Physician, Dr. Richard Strauss, now deceased, has been accused of using his position as the Ohio State University team doctor to sexually abuse over 100 former students and athletes.
Since the first accusation came about, hundreds of athletes, students and even multiple members of the Wrestling team has come forward with their stories.
One of these wrestlers, former UFC and Pride FC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman who is a member of UFC’s hall of fame.
Coleman wrestled for Ohio State in 1988 and won a national championship as a Buckeye. He went on to become an assistant coach for Ohio State Wrestling.
Coleman has been cooperating with Investigators and has denied statements that former assistant coach Jim Jordan, who is now a Republican congressman had any knowledge of the abuse:
“There’s no way unless he’s got dementia or something that he’s got no recollection of what was going on at Ohio State. I have nothing but respect for the man, I love this man, but he knew as far as I’m concerned. At no time did I ever say or have any direct knowledge that Jim Jordan knew of Dr. Richard Strauss’s inappropriate behavior,” the statement reads. I have nothing but respect for Jim Jordan as I have known him for more than 30 years and know him to be of impeccable character.”
